01 — Why TrelloTalk

Not another productivity blog. A live operating system.

We tear down real Trello boards from agencies, SaaS teams and creators, then rebuild them cleaner, faster and calmer. Copy the structure, steal the automations, run the ritual.

Visual workflow mappingBoards that breathe

Kanban without clutter

Learn the 4-list method: Inbox → This Week → Doing → Done. WIP limits, cover images, custom fields — minimalism that scales to 20 people.

Automate the boring 40%

Due-date nudges, auto-assign by label, Slack-style digests, recurring card creation. Our recipes save teams 6.5 hours per week on average.

Happy remote teamHuman rituals

Talks that replace meetings

Async standups in cards, Friday wins, blameless retros. TrelloTalk scripts turn comments into decisions instead of endless threads.

⚡ Power-Ups decoded

02 — About TrelloTalk

We started with one messy board and a loud argument.

In 2021, trellotalk.com was a side-chat between three project managers drowning in Trello notifications. One had 47 boards. One had zero. One color-coded everything including lunch. We argued about the perfect workflow — then decided to test everything in public.

Today TrelloTalk is an independent playbook lab for modern teamwork. We interview operations leads, audit real boards (with permission, blurred secrets), stress-test Butler automations, and publish brutally practical teardowns. No sponsored rankings. No guru talk. If a trick doesn’t survive a real sprint with deadlines, kids, clients and time zones — we don’t publish it.

  • ✓
    Real boards, real numbers.
Every case shows before/after: cycle time, overdue %, comments per card.
  • ✓
    Talk-first culture.
Comments are decisions. We teach how to write a card that gets answered in 2 hours, not 2 weeks.
  • ✓
    Calm over hustle.
WIP limits, no-meeting blocks, shutdown rituals. Productivity that protects weekends.
  • ✓
    Free forever core.
87 templates, 32 automations and all guides stay free. Pro workshops fund the lights.

Is TrelloTalk affiliated with Trello? +
No. We’re an independent community of power users. We love Trello, dissect it daily, but we’re not owned or sponsored. That’s why our reviews stay honest.

Start with our Weekly OS template and the 4-list method. One board, three priorities a day, WIP limit of 3. Add Butler automations only after week two.
Are templates really free? +
Yes. All 87 core templates, checklists and Butler recipes are free forever. Paid workshops and audits keep the project alive.
How do I reduce Trello notification hell? +
Watch only what you own, mute done lists, use @mentions for decisions only, and run one async standup card per day instead of 20 threads.
Do you do team audits? +
Yes, monthly slots. We audit your boards, rebuild one flagship workflow live, and leave you with automations and rituals. Use the contact form below.
